NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE
For magnetic resonance investigations we are equipped with Aperto – Hitachi
MRI Scanner.
Its construction is based on a magnetic device that produces a permanent
and uniform magnetic field. The machine is easily handled by the operator
and is convenient for the patient – the direct approach of area of interest
is facilitated and the acquisition of images is rapid and in multiple planes:
coronal, sagittal and transversal.
High resolution images and real time data processing provide a selective
three-dimensional image. The device also distinguishes between water and
fatty tissues, making scans of difficult areas. The system is compatible with
information networks.
Depending on the investigated area can be distinguished:
Cerebral MRI
-
Diagnosis of tumors, particularly those of small size; e.g.: acoustic nerve
neurinoma, pituitary adenoma, metastasis.
-
Inflammatory diseases, e.g. multiple sclerosis.
-
Diagnosis of stroke.
-
Vascular diseases, e.g. venous sinus thrombosis.
-
Degenerative disorders.
-
MRI - angiography.
-
Diagnosis of HIV complications.
-
Congenital malformations.
-
The diagnosis of hydrocephalus.
-
Diagnosis of diseases of paranasal sinuses.
-
Examination of the orbit and the eyeball (tumor, inflammation),
the assessment of eye muscles and optic nerves.
Spine MRI
-
Spine injuries.
-
Herniated disc.
-
Tumors, vertebral and intrarachidian metastases.
-
Spinal cord disorders (tumors, inflammations, bleeding,
infarctions, hemorrhages).
-
Ankylosing etc.
-
The diagnosis of tumors, lymphomas.
-
MRI - angiography of cervical vessels.
-
Brachial plexus disorders.
Osteoarticular MRI
-
Diagnosis of ligament, synovial, tendinous injuries.
-
Primitive or secondary bone tumors.
-
Osteonecrosis, osteochondritis.
-
Inflammatory and degenerative rheumatisms.
Pelvis MRI
-
Disorders of the uterus (uterine cancer) and annexes.
-
Disorders of the prostate.
Soft tissues MRI
-
Principle indications for MRI for all types of diseases.
-
Breast MRI.
MRI contraindications: The only contraindication refers to patients
with metal prostheses or implants, those with pacemakers and those with
foreign objects in the body (shrapnel, metal objects, etc.).
COMPUTERIZED TOMOGRAPHY
Eclos - Hitachi CT Scanner, the device held by our center, performs multi-slice
computed tomography (8-16 slices), which can provide very fine sections,
thus producing detailed images of normal and pathological structures.
By using many planar reconstruction sections are obtained in three anatomical
planes. Three-dimensional reconstruction is used to diagnose the smallest lesions.
Angio CT programs allow to obtain the finest details of the vessels, being able
to diagnose any arteriovenous malformations.
CT angiography is particularly useful in brain pathology and is included
in the protocols required for neurosurgical operations.
It is one of the basic investigations in vascular surgery and can replace
conventional angiography.
Cardiovascular diseases may benefit from early diagnosis and
effective treatment using CT angiocoronarography.
Special programs allow CT Virtual Colonoscopy and with three-dimensional
reconstruction detailed images of the digestive tract are obtained. This
investigation successfully replaced the conventional colonoscopy and avoids
its discomfort.
Time of examination is extremely short and in a few minutes can be scanned
almost the entire body. Due to this, children and agitated patients can be
easily examined.
It is the examination of first choice in the case of hemorrhage.
We perform:
-
CT of abdomen.
-
CT of pelvis.
-
CT of brain.
-
CT of bones.
-
CT of spine.
-
CT of thorax.
-
CT of cervical region.
-
Angio CT.
-
CT Virtual Colonoscopy.
DIGITAL RADIOLOGY
Medimage Center is equipped with Apollo Digital X-ray machine, which is a
radioscopy-fluoroscopy system with 90/90 tiltable table, remote command,
fully computerized and has high speed and accuracy in positioning and carrying
out of radiological studies.
We perform:
-
Bones radiography.
-
Gastrointestinal graphy.
-
Vascular system DR.
-
Pulmonary DR.
-
Barium enema.
-
Urography.
